Review of “Wicked” The Movie – Prophecy, Quantum Dance, Self-Actualization, and the Tao in Pink and Green

This movie outing was a post-Thanksgiving indulgence for a gal who rarely goes out. After seeing it, I empathize with principled, strong Elphaba and can’t help but picture her waif counterpart, queen bee Galinda (Glinda), as having a bright post-Shiz University career as a savvy but manipulative social impact investor.

This particular episode will work better if you are able to watch it while listening, because I added supporting screenshots during the editing process. Also if you are tempted to insert some banal “Federal Reserve” commentary in the comments, see the second, shorter video. My public service announcement for the day from the scamming Wizard of Oz, “there is nothing better to unite people than to give them a really good enemy.” That could be Elphaba or the Rothschilds.

“It’s not easy being green.” –Kermit the Frog–

I should go see that movie now.

My takeaway from your takeaway: the man behind the curtain wants access to your magical powers while disempowering you. Having no magical talents of his own apart from (adjective) engineering. So, behind the bravado and the power projection he’s quite vulnerable, and frightened.

You can grow up to work with that. Wear the hell out of that hand-me-down hat. Roll with the punches, go with the hunches, find your broom and sweep clean. If you’re green.

I don’t think I need a complete overview of each of the four elephants that support the World Disk. I can do only so much from where I’m standing. So can you. This war is not won by armies, or strategy, or tactics, but by weird warriors, warlocks and witches. Doing stuff they don’t understand themselves, making hearts out of flowers and pebbles or whatever the moment commands.

That’s the few of us who dance to our own tune. We can totally love our go along to get along munchkin friends and family, but they are no part in this. It’s us misplaced objects that are going to grind the machine to a halt. A semicolon where a colon is expected is all it takes.

“Elphaba” is halfway between “L Frank Baum” and “Alphabet”. Little mind hop to spells, and the importance of spelling.

Here’s why i’m cautiously optimistic: the man behind the curtain builds his wasteful Rube Goldberg “hunch engine” at the tune of billions while I have a perfectly good hunch engine gently spinning away on my bookshelf. It’s stood there since my teens. It’s called the I Ching. It’s the perfect instrument for finding actionable insight on insufficient information. I rarely take it off the shelf and throw the yarrow stems these days because it taught me well.

Insufficient information will do to know what to do from where you’re at, if you know how.

I appreciate your comment very much. On reflection, I do think we need to be aware of the power of the hero archetype and where we go if we choose to inhabit that role without a full understanding of its complexity.

I like the direction you are going. From my perspective, understanding the energies is the starting point. An age change (shown through procession within astrology) would lead to a need for a system change. What happens when the new energy focus of the next sign would give people a desire for independence and humanitarianism? We don’t need to limit the energy to those 2 things. There could certainly be more. But if there are energies that create a kind of “emotional weather” that will lead to independence, humanitarianism, science, technology, it might be good to create a system appealing to those qualities, to nudge those energies in a much more sublimated and controllable way. Wouldn’t you think so? It is hard to believe that there are people running a system thinking in these terms. We were nudged long ago from even thinking that these energies exist.

It’s probably not a coincidence that Ariana Grandes mother Joan Grande is the CEO of Hose-McCann Communications, company that manufactures communication, signaling and monitoring products for Marines and Navy. They pioneered during second WW and developed the first reliable marine communications system.
